In this painting, the figure appears curled up over a structure of cobalt planes that occupy and organize the space. The body rests in a posture that feels relaxed and abandoned at the same time, while the blue surrounds the figure and ultimately comes to support it visually.
The composition begins with a search for structure and symmetry. The planes do not function simply as a background or fabric; they emerge around the body and gradually become part of it, creating a space where figure and environment become intertwined.
The posture serves as a starting point to explore flesh, color, and the relationship between the body and these large areas of blue. The gesture is minimal, yet the physical presence remains.
Cobalt organizes the composition and accompanies the figure’s rest. At first glance the image appears calm, but it is built upon a carefully measured tension between structure, weight, and body.
This piece will be sent directly from my studio, carefully packed by me.
