Sometimes you wake up with your eyes half-closed, not knowing if you’re still dreaming or already back.
This painting lives exactly in that space — between sleep and waking, between the surrender of the body and the resistance in the gaze. The figure doesn’t sleep, but isn’t fully present either. He holds himself there, wrapped in lines, in flowers, in a stillness that isn’t calm.
Painting this gesture was an attempt to capture something fragile: the persistence of someone who doesn’t rest, even when lying down. The color pulses through warm and cool contrasts; the composition is arranged like a tense whisper. Everything is contained, but nothing is inert.
Wrapped in Stillness is not a sleeping image. It’s a suspended one — still watching from within.
This piece will be sent directly from my studio, carefully packed by me.
