Tense Offering. Oil on canvas. 30 x 30 cm. 2025
This portrait, “Tense Offering”, was born from my fascination with symmetry and the constant tension between restraint and surrender. I wanted to build a balanced image — a centered face, mirrored hands, as if the gesture itself were a silent offering.
I painted this piece in oil on canvas, adding an element that I often interpret as a ribbon, thread, or bandage. It wraps around the wrists. It seems like a restraint, and yet it’s being offered. As if what holds us back could also be given. As if it were light.
What interests me here is that small but loaded gesture: offering the very thing that binds you. I like to think this painting speaks of something that can’t be explained — only felt.
It’s a small, square work, but it carries a strong vibration. If you’re drawn to the human figure and the quiet stories within a single gesture, maybe this painting is for you too.
This piece will be sent directly from my studio, carefully packed by me.
