Soft Light in Blue, oil on canvas, 30 x 30 cm.
Years ago, my paintings were filled with thick textures, with brushstrokes that left a heavy imprint on every surface. This piece emerged from experimentation: a beeswax-based medium that transforms the texture of the oil, applied with a round brush instead of my usual flat ones. Just enough to alter the way color and light interact.
The figure rests in a soft blue atmosphere, where the matte finish absorbs light, creating a subdued, almost veiled presence. Exploring new paths is part of painting. You have to try things.
