If Soft Cobalt Sleep was about being held, this one is about sinking.
The figure has almost disappeared into the lines, as if sleep wasn’t just a posture, but a place she’s entered fully. The cobalt stripes no longer accompany — they absorb, surround, transform.
This painting is built on that surrender: no tension, no defense. The brushwork is looser, more enveloping, almost fluid. Painting this felt like painting a sustained breath — a gentle fall.
Deeper Cobalt Sleep doesn’t portray rest. It portrays descent.
This piece will be sent directly from my studio, carefully packed by me.
