“Suspended gaze”, oil on canvas, 30 x 30 cm.
In Suspended gaze, I wanted to capture that moment where the figure seems to challenge the viewer with a gaze filled with a certain weariness. Her expression suggests a mix of reflection and defiance, as if she’s tired of something unspoken, yet evident in her posture and the intensity of her eyes.
The warm tones and faceted brushstrokes bring a rich texture that contrasts with the apparent stillness of the portrait. Each stroke seeks to convey the tension between the figure’s introspection and her subtle confrontation towards the observer. This piece is not only a reflection of contained emotion, but also an invitation to connect with that moment when gazes speak louder than words.
